Specto, the ICDL National Operator in Jordan, signed an agreement with the Jordan River Foundation (JRF). The agreement is funded by UNICEF to offer ICDL training and certification through community based organisations (CBOs). The project will be implemented in six CBO centres distributed in remote rural areas in the northern region of Jordan.
The CBOs programme provides comprehensive services to marginalised and less fortunate young people, aged 13 to 24. The main goal of the program is to provide young people with access to skills building and community based child protection information to make positive life choices, safely transition to a productive adulthood, and contribute to strengthening social cohesion, protection, resilience and economic development.
The Jordan River Foundation (JRF), chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation established in 1995 with a focus on child safety and community empowerment.
